Bounty Poisoner

An interesting home-brew script, for totally normal reasons not at all related to the time of year, being mid February. Cupid’s Bow, where some players were in hidden Revolutionary pairs where they didn’t have to sit next to each other, but still be the same alignment.

I was evil, such joy! And what a team of fellow minions and my demon. This was, and it turned out I was right, going to be fun. I had to pick a poisoner target at random and settled on my neighbours neighbour. The Shugenja. Lucky snipe which setup the rest of the game.

Turns out it was a Zombuul who was planning on going Noble and dying early to cover the tracks. Great plan! I decided to go with the Bounty Hunter bluff, with the Godfather bluffing Moonchild and the Spy taking not one of the given bluffs.

Day 1 I did not speak to the spy so didn’t get the grim so wasn’t sure what name I should give to sell my bluff. Then, in my final chat for the day, I talked to the Recluse. Who claimed to me. So I jumped on it, complaining they had already corrupted my information and advocating for their death. I got what I wanted and, to everyone’s surprise their neighbour, the spy, died too! RevPair 1 discovered. That night the innkeeper was killed by our Godfather.

Day 2 I managed to talk to the spy and get the full grim. This allowed me to, after also finding out I had poisoned the Shugenja, paint the Seamstress as my next Bounty Hunter Ping. Successfully got them executed too. That night I poisoned the Oracle to further try and see an evil Seamstress hoping their number would go up. It did.

Day 3 it was time for the exorcist to go. They were also apparently in a Village Idiot no, which was great. They were then executed… but did not die, thanks to the Pacifist. This put town firmly in a Lleech world. Great for us! I poisoned the Exorcist since my demon would be getting a kill and I didn’t want that to be potentially interrupted. The Oracle and Pacifist died together thanks to my demon, RevPair 2 found.

I was fully trusted and wouldn’t be getting any more information, since I got ‘the Lleech’ in my ping, confirmed evil, I must be telling the truth. Not a host, my information true.

We focused our attention to possible hosts. The Noble information seemed wrong, with one dead and the other two backing each other up. A possible host? I nominated the Noble, my demon. They got executed and died. And so did I. RevPair 3 found. This even more confirmed me as good having just nominated, voted and died alongside the ‘Noble’.

Deaths at night were harder to come by. No outsiders dying for godfather. No more pacifist saves for the Zombuul to kill. So… after another execution and no death, finally town is in the correct Zombuul world. But who would that be? Must have been an early death perhaps, certainly not someone in a RevPair. So a corpse was executed. And the Zombuul struck.

Down we were to 4 alive, with a Zombuul registering as dead. One was evil, our Godfather, two were in the final RevPair. Was the Zombuul even dead, I posited. The Village Idiot information was… weird (thanks to a poisoning or two), surely the living Idiot was evil. Nominations happened, and the Idiot was executed. Wonderful I thought, still no suspicion on my Demon. Then the PuzzleMaster died. The final RevPair revealed. A registering as dead Zombuul, a Shugenja and a Godfather. Getting their second kill that night. We had done it.

The reveal was something special. The Godfather was not a surprise, nor was the Spy next to the Recluse. More of the grim was revealed and people saw what they expected. But still missing a minion and a demon. Until there was just me and the Zombuul left. The final reveal. Gasps of shock. Anger spreading. Maniacal laughter. Not a single good person, for more than a fleeting moment, had thought me OR my demon as evil. A great game won by pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes.

The key moments for me were: Having the full grim on day 2 (thanks Spy!), and the Zombuul taking the Noble bluff and being so willing to die, even on day 1. A true team effort, as all evil wins are, fighting the uphill battle.

  1. It’s amazing now afterwards remembering how the people who were framed dealt with the situation. I think the ‘lleech’ just went quiet and the seamstress tried to find worlds where your info was messed with.

Why is it we always forget all information can be:
True, broken (drunk/poison), or A LIE!

Even more amazing I (the oracle) who was neighbor whispered bs this whole game, just yesterday found myself in the same position and I still chose to believe your info was true or broken, but never lie. Still.

    How???

    1. What can I say, I am a trustworthy person. Gotta get that Mayor win on final 3! I’m clearly not Legion, right?
